THE NEWS MEDIA KEEPS SPINNING THE NEWS by Ray Tapajna
Spinning the News is not new - The term Free Trade has been made to look as if it is real trade. The globalist free traders point to things like protectionism causing the Great Depression when it was not even part of it . The stock market crash triggered the depression and not protectionism. The Great Depression was a money problem. There was very little trade in the world at the time , since most nations did not have the money to back it up. And you can not do business with people who do not have money.
President Roosevelt had the power to raise, lower or cut tariffs but nothing seemed to work. In the late 1930s, he said he was not going to let the lack of dollars stand in his way and announced the Lend Lease Program where products could be exported without being concerned about payment up front. This triggered the economy to produce products and food for the world market. Then the war came and the process multiplied with the U.S. sending goods and food to the allies. This produced the most awesome industrial might the world has ever known.
The the free traders came and shredded the economy into pieces and exported our production to other countries for the sake of cheaper labor. Today there are many debates about the best way to proceed but free trader globalist hide the fact that free trade is not really trade. It is an economic system that divorces investments from production. It is about moving factories anywhere in the world for the sake of cheaper labor. Under this process how can the interchange of goods be called trade if the U.S. is getting goods from other countries that were once made in the U.S. with the only difference being the factories are in a different place.
The American people have been had when it comes to free trade. It is not trade as historically practiced and defined. It is not about trading goods and services that one country has for something they do not have. It is about exporting production for the sake of investments enjoying maximum profits and secluding the free market for only a few to enjoy.
Sadly, our newspapers and news channel act like network for the promotion of this economic process called free trade. The all tell the same story and hide the real story behind free trade. They tell stories about debating issues behind a process that really does not exist since free trade is just a term to cover this economic process.

Note how the following pertains to our times regarding recent wars and free trade economics.
The Cross of 911 Tangle of Terror asking who can untangle the terror free trade and globalization have spread ?
President Wilson perhaps created the greatest “spin” control of the news ever and used the power of his office to enforce it. It led the U.S. into two world wars. The biggest problem came when he tried to turn it off but the spin was so powerful he could not. The allies through the League Of Nations boxed Germany into a corner. This open the door to the second world war.
In his "spin" Wilson put George Creel, a journalist, in charge of the Committee of Public Information. All news was funneled through this committee which included the secretaries of state, war and navy. Its purpose was to sell the war to the people initially and maintain and create the right attitudes.
Wilson hid the infractions of the British Empire and exposed as much as he could regarding the German infractions. His committee scattered literally millions of books and booklets around the world about the Germans being savage “Huns”.
Wilsonism even reached a small town in Italy where the likeness of Wilson could be found next to a favorite patron saint. From various government departments through the committee poured out mounds of information favorable to Wilson’s causes. Newspapers “cooperated” with the committee both in withholding material and publishing only approved stories.
The committee printed seventy-five million books and booklets which were circulated in the USA alone with additional millions sent out throughout the world.
The those days, there were no radios or TV and so the committee enlisted the services of 75,000 “volunteer speakers” known as the “Four Minute Men”. They appeared on stages and in motion picture houses in more than 5,000 different communities and they delivered a total of 75,170 speeches to an estimated audience, all told, of 300 million people. Only the blind and the deaf could escape the full extent of this propaganda spin. The cost of all this came from the government and other sources but the real cost was not in money but in the enforced sacrifice of independent judgment and intellectual integrity which is obviously reaching into our times as noted in the "spins" of President Clinton, President Bush and President Obama.
Free trade is supposed to be free of government intervention. Instead, government act as brokers and dealer in a global economy and established many rules with most of the rules leave out most everyone for the sake of a few.
